CORONAVIRUS AND STOCK MARKET

It has been said that the crash of the stock market over the past few days is due to the coronavirus pandemic. I think the pandemic is the match that set off the explosion, but the actual dynamite that is exploding is a mixture of two factors. One factor is the economic  cycle which began when President Obama began the present economic recovery after the Republicans crashed it with tax cuts paid for with borrowing. Trump rode in on the coat tails of the Obama economy. Economic growth cycles eventually end. The second factor is that the Trump administration borrowed money to keep the growth going despite syphoning off money for Trump's tax scam (cut). That borrowing has created the largest deficit ever experienced by the US Treasury. The Trump deficit, taking down of government institutions, dishonesty, and recklessness have weakened America's ability to face crises like the one posed by the coronavirus or any other that might come along in the future.

BARR/TRUMP/PRO-PUTIN INJUSTICE DEPARTMENT

In the Barr/Trump/pro-Putin/neo-KGB Injustice Department, lies and criminality are rewarded while honesty and integrity are punished.

TRUMP ECONOMY LIE

Trump claims to have created a great economy, but that is not true. President Obama inherited an economic collapse from President Bush due to overborrowing to pay for the Iraq War along with tax breaks for the very wealthy (instead of increased taxes to pay for the war). Obama began years of measures that incrementally brought down the debt, restored the economy, and increased jobs. Trump inherited the Obama success and took credit, but he again started another GOP tax scam which again shifted money to the very wealthy (including Trump and friends). He also skimmed money from the public till into his own pocket. He also ballooned the deficit by borrowing huge amounts of money to cover up the scam. Ultimately the bill will come due, and the economy will collapse again.

ALEXANDER VINDMAN SERVES AMERICA, TRUMP SERVES HIMSELF AND PUTIN

So now vindictive Donald Trump has fired Alexander Vindman for speaking the truth. Lt Colonel Vindman is an American military hero who serves his country. He is a purple heart recipient because he was wounded in the course of that service. Trump never served in the military but instead avoided the draft through the influence of his rich father. Trump has never served America but instead expects America to serve him. Vindman shows his courage by placing the interests of his country above his own. Trump is an impeached liar, a cheat, a thief, a pervert, and a traitor. We Americans must vote overwhelmingly to kick PUTIN'S PUPPET out of office along with his sycophant GOP senators. The vote must be overwhelming to overcome the thumb on the scale given to the Trump Gang by voter suppression, the Electoral College, and disinformation dispensed by Putin's neo-KGB to steal the election for Trump.

BLOOMBERG AND STEYER

In my previous post 2 days ago. I mentioned Biden, Buttigieg, and Klobuchar as my 3 favorite candidates. I would be OK with most of the Democratic candidates. If Sanders were nominated, I would vote for him over Trump. I did not mention the 2 billionaire candidates, Bloomberg and Steyer. Some Democrats have disparaged them, but I am not turned off by their wealth. Trump was born a rich man's son who squandered his inherited wealth and turned to crime and dishonesty to regain that wealth. Trump uses the office of presidency to boost his personal wealth. Bloomberg and Steyer are self made billionaires who are donating some of their wealth to further their perceptions of the public good. Between the 2, I favor Bloomberg because of his experience in politics.

DEMOCRATIC PARTY PRIMARY ELECTION

I would call myself a moderately progressive Democrat. My favorite candidates in the 2020 presidential election are Biden, Buttigieg, and Klobuchar. Actually, most of the Democratic candidates would be fine. All would be an improvement over Trump. My least favorite Democratic candidate would be Sanders, but if he were nominated I would vote for him in this election. Anyone would be better than Trump. Trump is a crook, a liar, a cheater, a bully, and a thug. Trump is selling out America to Putin the dictator of Russia to further his own interests. He has corrupted the Republican party. Although I disagree with many of Bernie's policies, he is honest and well meaning.
Trump is coasting on the coat tails of the Obama economic recovery. The Trump continuation of the Obama recovery appears on the surface to be OK, but it is rotten underneath. His tax scam charity for a small number of rich billionaires (including Trump and gang) is propped up by the government borrowing money creating the largest deficit in history. The next president will have to clean up the Trump deficit after the crash, repair and ultimately improve the social programs that Trump has destroyed, and restore America's post Trump world standing. The problem calls for pragmatism. Bernie has created unrealistic expectations that could impede progress.
