Trump is attacking the World Health Organization to deflect from his own incompetence in handling the coronavirus pandemic. Confronting the pandemic requires a global response. Trump needs to get out of the way. We need to elect Joe Biden as president to bring America back to world leadership. Another 4 years of  Trump's xenophobia and corruption will turn our country into a third rate banana republic, and Putin's attack on America will have succeeded.

Today I turned on the television to MSNBC and was treated to a White House briefing on the COVID pandemic. Dr. Fauci was speaking, so I listened. Then Trump came on with his usual BS. So I flipped arond the TV stations looking for something more interesting. I landed on a Lewis Carrol children's movie with dubbed in Spanish on one of the Spanish language stations. The characters during the time I was watching were a little girl who drinks some potion that shrinks her down in size and a talking rabbit. They were infinitely more interesting than Trump.

OBAMA/BIDEN RESPONSE TO EBOLA

Obama/Biden sent American personnel to lead the global response to the Ebola epidemic in West Africa years ago, thus preventing it from turning into a pandemic which might have spread all over the world including America. He also built a pandemic response team in the US government to deal with future pandemics, but Trump destroyed it. When the COVID 19 epidemic started spreading out of China, Trump downplayed it, called it a "hoax," and dragged his feet when it entered the USA until it became so obvious that he could no longer ignore it.

Kudos to the brave Wisconsin Democrats who left home despite the coronavirus pandemic to stand in long lines due to Republican voter suppression in cold weather to vote for a liberal state supreme court nominee.

TRUMP AND HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE

Trump wants a quick fix to the coronavirus crisis because its effect on the economy and his poor handling of the problem are hurting him politically. So he is promoting hydroxychloroquine as a treatment.. He said, "What do you have to lose?" Hydroxychloroquine has potential side effects. It can be toxic to the eyes, cause abnormal heart rhythm, or severe abdominal pain. One has to weigh the benefit of a medicine against its risk. That is done through clinical trials where the medicine is given to half the patients and a placebo is given to the other half, and neither the patients or the doctors know which patients are in which half until the study ends and the code is broken. To tell people to take a medicine willy nilly based on a hunch without knowing if it has a real chance of benefit is creating an unnecessary risk. But that's the way Trump makes all his decisions. That's why he failed so often in business and had to launder money for kleptomaniac dictators and mobsters to stay afloat. That's why he has done such a terrible job as president.
